I've just read the introduction to your book We Have Never Been Woke via the link in the post. It's outstanding. Ironically, it's a good argument for the existence of sociology professors--at least those capable of this level of insight, diligent research, erudition, and sensitivity to ground-level reality. Doing honest and unsparing ethnography on ones own elite occupational subculture requires a lot of courage and wit. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this. I've read enough of your writing to know that, yes, you can play. You've passed the audition.
